I will be blunt -- in trying to make this your own, you've thrown out everything which made the original fun but didn't really add much else.

The song has no melody, just a single repeating pattern and some boilerplate wub-wubs (to reassure the listener it's actually dubstep). I can only assume the very out-of-place violin solo of the actual melody is so you can still call this "Gyges".

To be fair, the sheer energy of the original is very hard to catch.

I've never been interested in donkey kong country until now... Not to mention your album, suddenly interested in that.

Only issue that bugs me a little is this song doesn't loop too well.

Yeah, it wasn't likely Nintendo was going to let you sell a remix.

[What's Coming to 'em]

I like the beat a lot, and the lyrics do strike a note with me.. but I needed the key to understand them, they were spoken indistinctly and mushily.

As far as the not being able to understand the lyrics issue, this may be corrected when I release the lossless audio format of the album via bandcamp, but I'll see if I can get to possibly correcting these issues for the mp3 before the album release.

[Scrap Brain (Sonic 1 MS Rmx)]

It's the first "scrap brain" remix I found which didn't try to turn it into something it's not(people seem to want to slow it down). The bassline helps keep it going, but it sounds a little sparse in parts.

The first 47 seconds of this get 5 stars. Then it falls into 'race around the world' again and gets 2 stars, which averages out to 3 1/2.

I know you don't want to hear this, but I'm sorry, it's VERY predictable. I heard the shift in tone and was able to almost flawlessly predict what notes were coming next.

Not melodic enough to be trance, I think, but it's interesting anyway. The background thrum almost becomes percussion.

This strikes me as somewhere between instrumental and chiptune, it starts as instrumental, and slowly blends into mostly synthetic instruments. It'd be interesting to hear an all-chip version of this.

That sounds like fun, and I might just do that. I haven't really experimented with any chiptune stuff yet mostly because I haven't found many instruments in my version of FL that has 8-bit instruments other than the 3x oscillator somewhat resembles 8-bit.
