Excellent instruments

I love the way you use distortion guitar. Tons of folks just treat it like a key to hit, the same all the time. You use it properly.

Another rousing rendition...

...of "race around the world". Really though, you've got quite a few of those already.

nostalgic sound

Sounds like a lot of samples made from the original Adlib card. Man, that takes me back...

I'd call this pretty original

It doesn't sound remotely like the song you're remixing... If you hadn't told me it was the Sonic 2 final boss I'd never have guessed; it captures a similar emotion but really isn't the same. Which isn't a bad thing.

ChaosDragon004 responds:

Yeah, when I do remix's I try to make it my own but mabye I went too far lol. Oh, its the regular boss, not the final. Thanks for taking the time to give me your feedback.

Lots of variety for a loop

I admit, I just listened to this because of the title. When the piano started coming in, that's when I was sure I liked this. Give this one a long listen before you vote, people!

spoonybrad responds:

I have almost as much fun coming up with song names as I do composing! Thanks!

Instruments could use some work

Your excellent instruments have been very important in making orchestral tunes like this, but they're not always used to best effect. Here the violins sound "mushy", given an odd sound either by too much reverb or given a strange envelope, or perhaps both.

Bak-R responds:

Yes i know but when i do this song, i use to be compose music sinds 2 month.. Today after 1 years, i think personally that this song is not good. You should listen my last remix of sonic. you'll see the diference beetwen the tro song . ^^ but thanks for your comment, it help me the make new beautiful song ^^

It's not race-around-the-world

Waterflame's gotten himself out of the re-re-re-remixing rut, for which I'm really grateful. I enjoy this tune. But, I agree it's not the "best ever". That epithet's used far, far too often.

That theme change at 1:40 is really jarring. It's like the player skips to something completely different in a playlist.

Interesting revisit

Also, is it just me, or do I detect the faintest thread of Commander Keen in this?

Simple and cheerful

But it grows on you after a few loops.

Gravijar responds:

cheers

The feedback I'm getting here has inspired me to clean up and post more of my small library of music, which I make as a hobby. So far I'm (de?)composing using old-fashioned tools like FastTracker II. If you know better free tools, I'm all ears!
